TUC / ETI / NHG Conference - 'Working on the Edge'
May 30, 2003

This conference on Friday 30th May 9.30am to 4.15pm held at the TUC HO Congress House is in partnership with the Ethical Trading Initiative & the National Group on Homeworking.

The Conference will highlight how trade unionists & voluntary sector groups can campaign for a better deal for 'atypical' workers, including agency workers, 'casuals', temporary & part-time workers.

The morning session will focus on: proposals for new EU rights for agency workers & the campaign to extend statutary employment rights to agency workers, casuals, homeworkers, freelancers, 'office holders' & other excluded groups.

The afternoon session will include workshops led by representatives from the Ethical Trading Initiative, the National Group on Homeworking and leading Trade Unionists. The workshops will focus on: organising homeworkers& agency workers; and how to use new legislation to win a better deal for temporary & part-time workers.

This conference is Primarily aimed at Trade unionists and NGOs
