Purpose:

The seminar will highlight some of the problems faced by business and trade unions, and will consider opportunities for co-operation and tackling HIV/AIDS in the workplace. It will examine the ILO's Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work. The Code is the product of collaboration between the ILO and its tripartite constituents - governments, business and trade unions. It provides valuable practical guidance to employers and trade unions for formulating appropriate workplace policies, prevention and care programmes and is an important contribution to the global effort to combat HIV/AIDS.
