Workshop 4: Making change sustainable

Workshop 4

Taking a leadership approach to ethical trade

The fourth workshop in the series looks at how to improve the effectiveness of ethical trade programmes by extending their reach and taking a long-term view to change. It identifies and explores some of the emerging and more challenging issues facing those working to improve conditions for workers in global supply chains,
such as:

  • Integrating ethical trade into core business practices
  • Building better dialogue with key partners, such as trade unions, NGOs and local networks
  • Involving workers in bringing about workplace improvements
  • Reaching all levels of the supply chain, including invisible and marginal workers

This more advanced workshop addresses some of the most challenging issues facing those involved in ethical trade. It is designed for people who are looking at ways of making their ethical trading programmes more effective and sustainable.

Next workshop: Wednesday 28 April 2010

"I found the training very useful. I will be using a lot of the information gained, particularly with regard to NGO/labour organisation assistance and involvement in solution solving for the future."
