That was the question we debated at the first Ethical Insights Series. Conclusion? Well, as with all things to do with ethical trade… it’s complicated!
Stirling is an independent consultant working for a number of companies, including some ETI members. He is a former official of the ILO, covering health and safety in South Asia, and is also one of ETI's trainers.
Rachel is the Ethical Trade Manager for Oxfam GB, and a board member of ETI. Her role involves providing advice to business on best practice in managing supply chain labour standards. Rachel works with a range of multinational companies, and has developed a programme of Ethical Trade workshops both for sourcing companies, and for MBA students at business schools.
Sabita Banerji joined ETI's Knowledge and Learning team in September 2012. She is responsible for supporting our programmes and members to monitor, evaluate and learn from their ethical trade work. Her background is in international development and fair trade. She also independently writes blogs on trade justice and other issues for MIT's CoLab Radio.
