A new version of our renowned ‘Essentials’ training programme, tailored specifically to businesses in the Republic of Ireland. This course will help you develop your understanding of ethical trade and how it applies to the Irish food and farming sector.
Unlike other ethical trade courses, ETI training goes beyond the core ethical trade issues, putting you on the path to tackling the root causes of labour rights issues in your supply chain.
Our expert trainer will give you the tools you need to:
- Map your supply chain
- Manage risk in your supply chain
- Implement effective codes of practice to improve worker conditions
- Involve your workers in finding the best solutions
- Develop SMART plans for key stakeholders
We will also show you how to find key resources and local partners, to make it easier to integrate ethical trade into your working practices.
Addressing labour rights issues in your supply chains is a difficult and ongoing challenge. Suppliers should take advantage of training so that they can learn how to practically implement change.Marks & Spencer
Introduction to ethical trade
Examine the core issues of ethical trade and discuss the typical issues that companies in your sector face. Delegates will explore the business case for ethical trade and analyse the impact on companies when things go wrong.
Understanding the ETI Base Code and the barriers to implementation
Explore the nine clauses of the globally recognised ETI Base Code. This interactive exercise will help delegates spot where business practices may be falling short of the Base Code standard and consider what barriers may be preventing improvements in working conditions.
Due diligence and mapping risk
Understand ETI’s approach to managing risk - through an interactive session with tools to help you design and implement ethical trade policies and practices. We help you map live examples from one of your own supply chains to identify where risks are likely. This session is informed by ETI’s Due Diligence Framework that features best practice and guidance.
