Charles Tyrwhitt is a menswear brand, established in 1986, dedicated to creating high-quality apparel and accessories, blending timeless British style with modern craftsmanship. Our mission has always been simple - to make the finest menswear, designed with timeless style and crafted without compromise on quality. But excellence isn’t just about what we make; it’s also about how we make it and the people who help bring every Tyrwhitt product to life.

Our responsibility goes far beyond our own teams; it extends throughout our entire value chain. The people who make our products are an integral part of the Charles Tyrwhitt story, and their wellbeing is essential to the long-term success and resilience of our business. We believe that we build our brand one person at a time, and every individual deserves fairness, dignity, and respect.

As Charles Tyrwhitt continues to grow and supply chains face mounting disruptions — from geopolitical instability to evolving human rights due diligence legislation — the expectations on businesses like ours continue to expand. In 2024, we introduced a dedicated Responsible Sourcing Coordinator role to the business to manage and strengthen our internal policies and processes, and deepen engagement with our suppliers on human rights due diligence throughout our value chain.

As a next step in our responsible sourcing strategy, we have joined the ETI to develop our HRDD approach in line with better practice and embed greater transparency and accountability across our sourcing regions.  With years of expertise and in-country presence and ETI’s unique network of businesses, NGOs and trade unions make it perfectly placed to support our efforts, both in our own supply chain and in driving wider, systemic change across the industry.

Charles Tyrwhitt is committed to embedding the principle of ‘Doing Things Properly’ throughout all areas of our operations. Within the supply chain, we will build upon existing practices and standards informed further by the resources, expertise, and collective learning opportunities provided through our membership to mitigate risks to workers throughout. We are excited to engage with the ETI network to learn from peer organisations and to contribute actively to broader efforts to enhance labour standards across global supply chains.

ETI's blog covers issues at the intersection of business and human rights. We feature posts by, for and from our members and allies; we do not accept or offer payment for posts or publish content outside of these criteria. We welcome a range of insights and opinions from our guest bloggers, though don't necessarily agree with everything they say.
