This report is an outcome of the study conducted by Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and Traidcraft (Traidcraft Services India Pvt. Ltd.), which draws on the findings of a 3 -month long research study to extract lessons from different initiatives undertaken in the Tamil Nadu region in addressing the exploitative employment practices, including the Sumangali Scheme, and capture knowledge gaps and potential opportunities for improvement to feed into the design of future projects aiming to ethical recruitment and retention of young women into the sector in enhancing workers’ rights in the region.
