ETI at the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector 2026

The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) is proud to take part in the OECD Forum on Responsible Supply Chains in the Garment and Footwear Sector, 9–13 February 2026. This annual gathering brings together businesses, trade unions, NGOs, and governments to advance responsible supply chain practices, with a focus on human rights due diligence (HRDD), gender equality, and worker safety.

ETI-led sessions

This year, ETI is engaging in multiple sessions, both in-person and online, covering topics from practical HRDD tools to extreme heat mitigation, freedom of association, and more.

Side session: Putting HREDD into Practice in Leather Supply Chains – Lessons from Bangladesh

  • When: Tuesday 10 February, 11:45–13:15 (CET)
  • Where: Online
  • Organised by: Ethical Trading Initiative Bangladesh, co-organised by ETI, Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), and Mondiaal FNV
  • Overview: This session explores how human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) can be effectively implemented in leather supply chains, drawing on practical insights from Bangladesh.

Tackling GBVH in the Garment Sector: Testing the ETI–RISE Remediation Guide

  • When: Wednesday 11 February, 14:00–15:30 (CET)
  • Where: Closed door, invite-only
  • Organised by: ETI and RISE
  • Overview: ETI and RISE are piloting a new guide to support companies in addressing gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in the workplace. The session demonstrates how practical tools can make gender-responsive HRDD actionable.

  • Overview: This OECD workshop session will explore good practices for responsibly disengaging from suppliers, ensuring that worker rights and local communities are safeguarded.

Side session: Keeping Workers Safe During Periods of Extreme Heat

  • When: Friday 13 February, 08:00–09:00 (CET)
  • Where: Online
  • Organised by: ETI and Royal Holloway, University of London
  • Overview: With global temperatures rising, this session presents lessons and recommendations from a study examining extreme heat impacts on apparel workers and strategies to mitigate risks.
