ETI calls for Kakuzi and Camellia to act urgently.

As thousands of tea workers strike in Assam, Sabita Banerji, CEO of THIRST on what buyers and retailers can do to protect the rights of tea workers to decent jobs ad livelihoods.

ETI comments on reports, and pledges to continue to monitor the progress of members involved and the extent to which they support Kakuzi to remedy working conditions, improve relations with the local community and provide remedy to victims. 

The ITUC is calling for a new social contract between societies and governments, that builds on decent work for all.
