ETI's Corporate Transparency Framework sets out the minimum public reporting standards expected of our members and provides guidance for progressing toward better practices.

Public reporting requirements of ETI member companies

ETI's Corporate Transparency Framework (CTF) outlines the minimum public reporting standards expected of our members and provides guidance for progressing toward better practices. 

Full ETI company members are required to report to ETI annually against the minimum requirements set out in the CTF. Foundation members are exempt from this requirement until one year after graduating to full membership. 

Each year, full company members must submit evidence demonstrating how they publicly report against each minimum requirement. The ‘Good’ and ‘Better’ practice standards are not assessed; they serve as a guide for members seeking to strengthen their human rights reporting. ETI actively supports its members working towards these higher standards.

10 minimum requirements of ETI's Corporate Transparency Framework

1.1 Publish a statement articulating your company’s commitment to respect labour rights in its supply chain activities, in line with the ETI Base Code.

1.1 Publish a statement articulating your company’s commitment to respect labour rights in its supply chain activities, in line with the ETI Base Code.

1.2 Set out internal governance and accountability structures for managing human rights in supply chains.

1.3 Describe how you have identified and prioritised human rights risks in your operations or supply chains.

1.4.1 A description of your supply chain 

1.4.2 The geographical spread of production and/or sourcing 

1.4.3 Locations of highest risk 

1.4.4 A list of first tier suppliers 

1.4.5 A list of first tier suppliers on Open Supply Hub

1.5 Describe the company’s approach with regard to respect for trade union rights including respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining. 

1.6 Report on salient risks identified and plans made to mitigate risk.

How we assess companies' performance.

How we define Met / Not met / Exception / Partially met

Met: The company member has published sufficient information to demonstrate how they have met the requirement.

Not met: The company member has not published sufficient information to demonstrate how they have met the requirement.

Exception: The company member has applied for an exception from ETI regarding the publication of its tier one supplier sites. Exceptions may be permitted by ETI on a case-by-case basis i) where it is not possible due to contractual or other obligations, or ii) for reasons of high commercial sensitivity.

Partially met: The company member has published a portion of its tier one supplier sites and has been granted an exception for the remainder of the list. With support from ETI, they are actively working toward full disclosure of tier one.
